#31 - Bake scones


Gretchen and I liked scones - rich, buttery scones. I almost took this item off the list because the recipes I was finding didn't reflect the way I try to bake now, with whole grains and lower fat, but then I opened the Cooking Light cookbook on the bottom shelf and found this recipe with whole grain flour, low sugar, and low-fat sour cream instead of lots of butter. I ground the wheat, substituted coconut sugar and non-fat yogurt, and found a recipe I'll use again. In another nod to Gretchen, I used dried cherries instead of raisins.
