This unique artwork, paint on raised metalwork, used to hang on my wall. I really, really liked it, but when a friend admired it, I let the painting go. It was the right thing to do. She has a Filipino mother, and because the painting depicts the Filipino dance with sticks (Google says it's call tinikling), it rightfully belongs to her. It now hangs in her workspace; she sent me a photo in appreciation.
Buy Nothing, which involves no exchange of money, emphasizes the importance of gratitude. I know well the gratitude of receiving, but it is the gratitude found in giving that fills me with joy.
